Two & Four-Stroke Diesels

This site last updated 2nd June 2003.

Welcome to all visitors to this page, hopefully it will prove to be of some use to those of you trying to find out some information about the diesel engine products manufactured by the Turner Manufacturing Company Limited, Wulfruna Works, Villiers Street, Wolverhampton. Initially my interest was in the two stroke diesels based on the original design by Professor Hans List at Jenbach, based in Graz, Austria. More recently this has expanded to include the four stroke diesel products of the company.

Firstly a little about myself, my name is Richard Lines and my initial interest in Turner diesels was entirely related to their availability as an after market kit to fit Land-Rovers in the mid 1950's, however as I now own two off four stroke stationary engines I have to say the interest has expanded.

As a relative newcomer to the Land-Rover world (1985) I assumed other longer standing devotees would know all there was to know about these unusual engines, but alas no. As I understand it, even with my seriously limited knowledge, I am considered something of an 'expert' on the subject.

There is a Turner Register, which, to some extent was reasonably well hidden, but will now reach a wider audience.
